Monteloeder’s new R&D project to address chronic pain: Naturelief project

Monteloeder has received a R&D project called “Naturelief”. The aim of this project is to create a preventive strategy based on a plant-based ingredient and digital technology to address chronic pain.

NATURELIEF is a project that researches and develops a new functional ingredient (based on botanical extracts to be used in food supplements) to reduce pain episodes or their intensity in people suffering from chronic pain. Under the title ‘Development of a new functional ingredient of plant origin and digital technology as a preventive strategy against chronic pain’, this initiative also aims to design artificial intelligence technologies to obtain new digital tools to optimise the consumption experience of the new ingredient and, thus, offer a preventive health solution against chronic pain.

The company Monteloeder is leading this R&D project, which also has the collaboration of various public and private entities with recognised experience and know-how in the areas covered by this initiative (CIBERSAM-University of Cadiz, ANTALGENICS, IBIDEM, THADERLAB SC, IVAMI, among others). NATURELIEF is planned for a duration of 24 months, from 2020 to 2022, divided into two technical-economic milestones. It has an associated budget of 625,342 euros, with the support of the CDTI and co-financing from the European Union’s ERDF funds through Spain’s Multi-regional Operational Programme 2014-2020.
