WORK?

Metabolaid® activates the AMPK pathway, responsible for decreasing lipid accumulation in the adipose tissue and liver.

The major molecular components that comprise Metabolaid® are verbascoside (from the lemon verbena) and anthocyanins (from   the   hibiscus). This proprietary combination of components works synergistically, enhancing their effect more so than if they were taking individually. Metabolaid® acts upon various tissues (adipose tissue, liver and muscles) by activating AMPK, which is a master metabolic switch*. In the muscles, the phosphorylated form of AMPK activates mechanisms to increase glucose and fatty acid uptake from the bloodstream, due to increased mitochondrial biogenesis. In the adipose tissue, AMPK activation favors the use of fatty deposits and release fatty acids to the bloodstream, while decreasing lipogenesis and lipid storage, resulting in decreased triglyceride accumulation. Leptin is unique in that it is a satiety-inducing hormone, yet individuals that are overweight have high levels of leptin in blood. This is because they present leptin resistance, requiring higher concentrations of the hormone to induce a satiety effect. In the published clinical study, leptin was significantly decreased, indicating a possible correlation with increased leptin sensitivity/appetite suppression. Satiety was further assessed using validated perception questionnaires. As early as 15 days after taking Metabolaid, the volunteers following a diet and exercise regime noted to feel less hungry during the day, and more satisfied with the amount of food they ate.
